About the Site Visits Project
A team of rural physicians and RCCbc staff meet with health providers, health administrators, First Nations, educators and local leadership to host an open discussion about the opportunities and challenges of health care service and delivery in the community. The feedback will help better inform policy and program development, specifically supporting rural health delivery.
About Rural Innovations
Health care in rural communities is often considered innovative by nature. By building a platform to share the innovations that the Site Visits Project has learned about, provides a place to spread ideas and solutions made by rural, for rural.
The Rural Coordination Centre (RCCbc) seeks to improve the health of rural communities and the people of British Columbia by:
- Supporting physician and health care provider health and practice;
- Growing relationships through collaboration and partnerships;
- Augmenting feedback loops; and
- Enhancing innovation.
These goals are achieved through communication, facilitation, collaboration, evaluation, and the sharing of best practices.
RCCbc supports and develops provincial initiatives by engaging and coordinating with rural health care providers to facilitate the development of local and/or regional solutions, frameworks, and networks. Though RCCbc is rural-focused, the organization sees the value in expanding and/or scaling up rural solutions to benefit other BC health professionals facing similar challenges.
